A Leading Training Company based in the North of Johannesburg seeks a Pastry Bakery Chef De Partie
Purpose of the Role:
To assist the Head chef with the preparation of high quality food, and the day to day running of the kitchen at a 4–5 star Conference venue. With duties in all areas of the kitchen but primarily within pastries deserts and bakery.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
While the role and responsibilities will not necessarily be limited to those set out below, key areas of focus include:
Be responsible for the production of quality desserts, baked goods, pastries, and snacks.
Ensure timeous delivery of food as per function sheets.
Ensure sufficient quantity of food whilst minimising wastage (including appropriate re-use).
Ensure delegate satisfaction with foods prepared.
Ensure all food presentation & taste / quality is of a 4-5 star standard.
Assist with other sections of the kitchen if and when required.
Assist with ensuring all legislative & additional appropriate kitchen hygiene standards are in place and applied.
Assist with the application of work processes and standards that ensure maximum efficiency and quality.
Minimise shrinkage, breakages, wastages, etc.
Timeous equipment maintenance.
Assist with budgeting, portion control, wastage, etc.
Assist with stock and asset control as required.
Ensure the safety of all kitchen equipment.
Ensure that store rooms, fridges, freezers etc. are kept clean and hygienic.
Take pride in your work and create a fast, efficient and smooth service.
Assist co- workers as necessary.
Adhere to the duty roster and those tasks assigned by management to you.
Assist with the design of dessert menus.
Assist the Head Chef with Costing and Budgeting.
Assist with orders as required.
Assist with kitchen administration as required.
Monitor deliveries and approve the quality as required.
A Recognised Diploma or Degree in Catering / Pastry
Minimum of 3 year’s xperience in a similar (banqueting) environment with responsibilities in the pastry and bakery sections of the kitchen where focus has been on preparing four -five star foods.
Computer literacy (MS Office) (an advantage)
Ability to work on all stations
Offering R 10 000 per Month
